Description (Service) Oversees and enforces municipal by laws including all building and demolition projects and proposals 
  • Enforces the Ontario Building Code Act 
  • Manages property zoning and acceptable property use 
  • Provides information for construction or renovation of a building 
  • Processes applications for consents and minor variances 
  • Provides information about planning and building fees 
  • Issues building permits 
  • Provides building inspections 
  • Receives and processes municipal land sales 
  • Oversees municipal development initiatives
 
Planning 
  • Oversees the planning, designs and construction of Municipal Infrastructure, transportation and traffic engineering, investigations, and subdivision development control  
  • Provides information and guidance to the public relative to planning related issues  
  • Responsible for land use planning functions including updating the Official Plan and Zoning By-Law, and processing amendments to these documents  
  • Processes subdivision and condominium applications  
  • Prepares and negotiates Site Plan Agreements, Development Agreements and Notification Agreements
