Description (Agency) Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) continues to renew the nation-to-nation, Inuit-Crown, government-to-government relationship between Canada and First Nations, Inuit and M├ętis; modernize Government of Canada structures to enable Indigenous peoples to build capacity and support their vision of self-determination; and lead the Government of Canada's work in the North.
Description (Service) Issues a card (SCIS) as an identity document confirming the cardholder is registered as a Status Indian under the Indian Act to assist in accessing entitlements, programs and services administered by federal agencies, provincial governments and other private sector program and service providers
