Description (Agency) A 14-week course for developing public speaking and leadership skills in an environment of peer support and within the context of education in social justice issues
Description (Service)
  • Aims to build agency in the community and empower people to stand up and speak out on social justice issues 
  • Offers a 14-week course as well as workshops on communications, public speaking and advocacy 
  • Uses a model based on peer support, mutual aid and group work to help build community and end social isolation
 
Provides the following services: 
  • Assists individuals in developing communication, public speaking and leadership skills 
  • Raises awareness of social justice issues 
  • Offers two 14-week sessions per year 
  • Brings guest speakers to talk about important community resources 
  • Delivers workshops on a broad range of topics related to social justice
Hours Tue evenings, 6 pm-9 pm during each of the 14-week sessions: first from Feb-May, second from Sep-Dec
