Description (Service) Provides a card that allows First Nations individuals to be exempt from paying the provincial tax on gasoline
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5 pm
Areas Served Algoma District ; Cochrane District ; Kenora District ; Manitoulin District ; Nipissing District ; Rainy River District ; Sudbury District ; Thunder Bay District ; Timiskaming District
Eligibility
  • First Nations individuals who have a Certificate of Indian Status (CIS) card 
  • First Nations bands
 
Gas must be purchased from a ministry authorized gasoline retailer on a reserve
Application Must complete an application and mail or fax it to 
Ministry of Revenue

If you do not have access to the internet, you can mail or fax a written request along with the following information: 
  • Photocopy of front and back of your status card 
  • Print name, full mailing address and telephone number on the photocopy 
  • Give reason why you are applying for gas card, such as first time applying, card was damaged, card was lost, or your name changed on the band list 
  • Sign your name at the bottom of the photocopy
