Description (Service) Provides a wide range of prevention services and programs that address addictions, family violence and mental health
 
Services offered include but are not limited to: 
  • Intervention in individual and family crisis to resolve issue; working with other service providers to identify care plans 
  • Provides assistance in child protection matters when required 
  • Offers individual counselling for mental health issues, family matters, parenting and other areas of struggle 
  • Provides educational programs at community schools on topics such as bullying, peer pressure, conflict resolution and self-esteem 
  • Conducts home visits to elders, shut-ins and as client follow-up 
  • Facilitates a group for seniors (50+ Group) to interact, work on crafts, participate in an exercise and socialize
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm 
Seniors group: Tue, Thu 1:15 pm

Eligibility
  • Members of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg (formerly known as Ojibways of the Pic River First Nation) 
  • 50+ Group is for individuals 50 years of age and older
Application Individuals needing a ride to the 50+ Group can make arrangements by calling 807-229-1836 Ext 612
