Description (Agency) Functions as a Nurse Practitioner clinic that provides primary health care
Description (Service) Nurse Practitioner-led medical clinic 
  • Nurse practitioners (NP) are registered nurses with advanced university education who provide personalized, quality health care to patients 
  • Works in partnership with Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Dietitians, Social Workers and collaboratively with Physicians
Offers a variety of health care services including:  
  • counselling and education 
  • diagnosing and treating illness and/or injuries 
  • ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests 
  • performing physical check-ups 
  • referrals to family physicians, specialists and other health professionals 
  • supportive care through illness 
  • treatments and/or procedures  
  • writing prescriptions
Provides walk-in access to a Nurse Practitioner for registered patients Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1 pm-4 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 5 pm-8 pm and Saturdays 10 am-1 pm
Hours Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri 9 am-4:30 pm * Wed 10 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Thunder Bay
  • Residents of Thunder Bay currently without a family physician 
  • Must have a valid Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card 
  • Must be a registered patient of the NPLC
