Public Comments There is a $250 fine if an individual is found operating a vessel without a licence
Description (Service)
  • Issues a document with a unique licence number to operate a pleasure craft 
  • Allows Search and Rescue personnel to access important information in an emergency 
  • Requires licence to be on board the pleasure craft at all times and the pleasure craft licence must be displayed on the bow of the boat

  • Application kits are available at any Service Canada Centre or online at the Office of Boating Safety  
  • Application must be mailed with proof of vessel ownership and a signed copy of a valid piece of government-issued identification to:
