Description (Service)
  • Operates six fire stations located in Beardmore Ward, Geraldton Ward, Longlac Ward, Nakina Ward, and in the Rural Wards in Caramat and Jellicoe 
  • Responsible for fire prevention and administration of the Ontario Fire Code 
  • Responds to fire alarms, fires, auto extrication/rescues, and hazardous material spills 
  • Maintains and operates a fleet of 10 pumpers and 5 rescue units, various scout and command units, a full complement of specialized rescue and extrication equipment, tools and equipment required to fight structural fires 
  • Issues applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires, excluding campfires  
  • Provides fire safety and prevention education
Hours Office: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm 
Mon-Sun 24 hours
