Description (Agency) A non-profit, community-based organization that brings together business, labour, educators and trainers, and community representatives to work collaboratively to identify and develop local solutions to address local labour market needs.
Description (Service) Independent regional advisory body led by local business and labour sectors and including representation from other stakeholders 
  • Engages communities in a locally-driven process to identify and respond to key employment and training trends, opportunities and priorities to help improve conditions of the local labour market 
  • Facilitates a local planning process and opportunities where community organizations and institutions agree to initiate and/or implement joint actions, activities and projects 
  • Organizes events and activities that promote the importance of education, training and skills upgrading
Local Employment Planning Council 
  • Promotes a local approach to the planning and delivery of employment and training services by connecting employers, different levels of government, service providers and trainers 
  • Assists with the improvement of labour market conditions through the collection and distribution of local labour market information
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Chapleau ; Cochrane District ; Timiskaming District
Boundaries Includes the communities along the Hwy 11 Corridor from Hearst to Latchford, East of Kirkland Lake and extends to the Quebec border
