Public Comments Landlords must provide written consent for tenants to participate in the Program
Description (Agency) The Union Gas Home Weatherization Program is a free energy-efficiency upgrade program offered to eligible customers living in homes with low levels of insulation
Description (Service) Performs a free in-home energy assessment and based on results, may install the following:  
  • basement insulation 
  • wall insulation 
  • attic insulation 
  • up to two shower heads, kitchen/basin aerators (left for customer installation), foam pipe wrap and/or a programmable thermostat
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Ontario
Eligibility Homeowners and tenants who reside in a single family, semi-detached, row or townhouse that was was built prior to 1975; requires more insulation and has a natural gas furnace, AND

The applicant's name appears on the Union Gas bill, AND

Must meet the following income eligibility:
  • 1 person - $33,681 or less
  • 2 persons - $41,932 or less
  • 3 persons - $51,549 or less
  • 4 persons - $62,588 or less
  • 5 persons - $70,987 or less
  • 6 persons - $80,060 or less
  • 7 persons or more - $89,136 or less
  • More than 4 persons - Add $8,849 per person
Note: Participation in the program will not affect income from government assistance programs

  • Individuals living in social housing must contact their housing provider as most units that are managed by community Housing Services have received proper upgrades
