Description (Agency) Child Advocacy Projet (CAP) is a free legal service for low-income children and families in Ontario who face challenges to their legal rights at school
Description (Service) Functions as a project between Pro Bono Law Ontario, The Advocates' Society, and Justice for Children and Youth
Provides child advocacy for low-income families who face challenges to their legal rights at school relating to: 
  • Unfair or unlawful suspension 
  • Expulsion or exclusion from school 
  • Denial or difficulty accessing special education service 
  • Difficulty enrolling in school 
  • School safety 
  • Bullying and harassment
Services offered include: 
  • Information and advice for families 
  • Representing students in their dealings with school administrators (by letter, phone or in person) 
  • Representing students at tribunals or hearings
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Ontario
Eligibility Legal advice and representation are available for children who attend primary or secondary school in Ontario and live in a household that meets the low income designation
