Description (Service) Mobile health centre focused on family and community health
 
  • Offers a primary mobile health care unit and urgent care clinics to individuals living in the district to serve people who are having difficulty finding health care, or who have barriers and access issues such as geography, or who may be at a higher risk of poor health 
  • Offers a multidisciplinary health care team including family physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, footcare nurses, counsellors, community health workers, early childhood educators and a dietitian 
  • Diagnoses, treats and refers clients within their scope of practice 
  • Treats cuts, common colds, fever, earaches, minor infections, bruises, sprains and skin skin complaints 
  • Offers regular foot care by appointment 
  • Offers health promotion programs based on the specific needs of the community visited (healthy eating, cooking, parenting, alcohol and substance abuse prevention)
