Description (Service)
  • Consults with and provides educational support to health promotion agencies and various community groups  
  • Ensures that program activities will be implemented while working together with the community nursing teams, external coalitions and agencies 
  • Participates in information exchange and collaboration among community partners relative to family abuse prevention 
  • Promotes chronic disease prevention 
  • Promotes various nutrition services
 
Early Child Development 
  • Promotes awareness and understanding of the risk factors associated with childhood injuries 
  • Increases the number of healthy public policies
 
Injury Prevention 
  • Works towards reducing disability and death caused by motor vehicle collisions 
  • Offers education on prevention of bicycle crashes  
  • Provides education on the use of car restraints and airbags 
  • Provides education on bicycling injury prevention and bicycle helmet use 
  • Promotes prevention on fall related injuries in the elderly
