Treaty #3 
  • Housing committee members are: Councillor Carmel Zoccole, Councillor Tracy Morrison, Jackie Peters, Rikka Berkan, Mark Sawdo and Tom Lebel 
  • Lot possession process includes: a Certificate of Occupation for a period of four years (two in most cases) is first issued to the Band member for an allocated lot (determined through a fair lottery process) during which time the member must meet certain development/building requirements, after which time a Certificate of Possession is issued giving member lawful possession of the surveyed lot
Description (Service)
  • Addresses and acts upon all housing issues and related requests through a Housing Committee  
  • Ensures that housing issues are effectively managed
 
Offers the following services:  
  • Development of policies and procedures that will become the Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation Housing Policy  
  • Ensures community members are updated with current housing progress by means of community website posts and letters 
  • Assistance with coordination of lot allocation when Housing Policy is completed which includes mailing application packages to all members expressing an interest in obtaining a lot 
  • Collaboration on lottery process for lot allocation
