  • Consists of 1 main reserve with a land area of approx 10.36 sq km; may increase with the settlement of a pending land claim 
  • First Nation name comes from "Wahnapitaeping" which means 'that place where the water is shaped like a molar tooth' 
  • Reserve is known as Wahnapitae Indian Reserve No 11 
  • The reserve is completely separate from the community of Wahnapitae which is located on Hwy 17E within the city of Greater Sudbury

Description (Service) Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the First Nation 
  • Serviced by air through the Greater Sudbury Airport, approx 30 km S of community 
  • Provides a $4.5-million multi-purpose facility called the Centre of Excellence; the 8,400-square-foot centre was officially opened in Sept 2012 and includes Band administration, the Maan Doosh Gamig meeting/events hall, the health clinic, the sustainable development department and business incubator services 
  • Offers several tourism related businesses owned by individual members and four camp/trailer/cottage grounds 
  • Operates a Band-owned business called Rocky's which consists of a licensed restaurant, convenience store, gas bar, marina, motel, meeting room and seasonal campground 
  • Participates in some of the mining, forestry and tourism activities in area being conducted by outside companies 
  • Publishes a community newsletter available at Band Office and on website 
  • Hosts an Annual Traditional Pow Wow in August 
  • Provides green carts and kitchen containers for residents wishing to compost
