Description (Service)
  • Provides non perishable food items to registered individuals as well as those in an emergency situation  
  • Provides a grocery store voucher for perishable items such as milk and eggs 
  • Coordinates food bank with volunteer efforts from program users (stocking shelves, setting up etc) 
  • Donations of non perishable food items and/or cash accepted at main office  
  • Receipts issued for cash donations
Hours Every second Thu 1 pm-3 pm

Eligibility Individuals and families in need 
  • Non-perishable items are limited to visits twice per month 
  • Voucher for perishable items is limited to once per month; valid for one month from issue date; redeemable at both grocery stores in Ignace
Application
  • Requires registration; forms are available at the Mary Berglund Community Health Centre Hub and the Ontario Works office  
  • Expire every year so must be renewed annually

Fees None - Client is asked to volunteer with stocking the shelves
