Description (Agency) to prepare youth for their future role as community members, promote fitness through sports and drill, develop leadership skills and provide an introduction into policing for those who may be interested in careers in law enforcement
Description (Service)
  • Prepares youth for their future role as community members 
  • Promotes physical fitness through marching drill and other activities 
  • Develops leadership skills and abilities through corps activities and community events 
  • Provides introduction, insight and encouragement to those that may be interested in law enforcement 
  • Provides professional training in proper use, handling, and storage of firearms, including marksmanship training 
  • Program does not use actual firearms 
  • Provides opportunity to obtain hunter safety certificate through sponsorship 
  • Provides opportunity to obtain First Aid Certificate 
  • Operates under rank and file structure

Eligibility Ages: 13 year(s) - 19 year(s) 
 
  • Must be at least 13 years old at the time their application for membership is accepted 
  • Must not have reached their 19th birthday at the beginning of their final year of eligibility 
  • Member participation in corps-sponsored volunteer events are eligible for inclusion in the minimum 40 hour community services required for secondary school graduation
Application
  • Can be picked up at any Wednesday evening Corps parade 
  • Can be obtained by writing to the corps address or sending an email to the address shown on the corps website
