Public Comments Contents of a Gladue Report: 
  • History of individual and their family 
  • Education and any residential school experience 
  • Racism and/or discrimination 
  • Poverty and employment history 
  • Mental health issues 
  • Addictions 
  • Criminal history 
  • Culture 
  • Healing and/or treatment plan
 
Once approved, a minimum of 30-60 days is required to complete a Gladue Report.
Description (Service)
  • Prepares a report detailing the background of an aboriginal offender that helps the judge to understand that individual's history 
  • May help reduce a judge's sentence for an offender
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-12 noon, 1 pm-5 pm
Areas Served Thunder Bay
Eligibility
  • Aboriginal individuals who have pled guilty or are found guilty after trial 
  • Must consent to the report 
  • Must be residents of Thunder Bay 
  • Priority is given to women and to clients facing 12 or more months in custody
Application
  • Through a defence lawyer, the crown, duty counsel, a courtworker or the judge 
  • Gladue Report Request Form available on the website
