Public Comments This is an adult Literacy and Basic Skills Program support organization; call for further information and/or referral to an appropriate LBS agency.
Description (Agency) Functions as the regional network for adult Literacy and Basic Skills service providers in Northwestern Ontario
Description (Service)
  • Functions as the regional literacy network 
  • Facilitates the regional literacy services planning process through the collection and dissemination of information, among governments, the public, literacy delivery agencies and other key community stakeholders, for the purpose of determining the need for, and the delivery of, adult literacy and basic skills upgrading programs in the region  
  • Provides member-agencies with cost efficient access to its administrative services, professional development opportunities and other resources pertinent to their needs
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm
Areas Served Atikokan ; Dryden ; Fort Frances ; Geraldton ; Kenora ; Manitouwadge ; Marathon ; Nipigon ; Red Lake ; Red Rock ; Schreiber ; Sioux Lookout ; Terrace Bay ; Thunder Bay

  • Agencies funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development to deliver the Literacy and Basic Skills program for adults 
  • Agencies and stakeholders that have an interest in adult literacy services and/or issues

Languages English - Anglophone LBS Cultural Stream ; French - Francophone LBS Cultural Stream ; American Sign Language (ASL) - Deaf LBS Cultural Stream ; Ojibway - Indigenous LBS Cultural Stream - services delivered in English but supported by first language and culturally appropriate resources.
