  • Provides financial assistance to Ontario residents with long term physical disabilities to obtain certain equipment and supplies, appropriate for an individual's basic needs 
  • Covers, in most cases, up to 75% of the cost of items including artificial limbs, custom fabricated orthotics, wheelchairs and breathing aids  
  • Contributes a fixed amount for items such as hearing aids for adults 
  • Pays out annual grants directly to individuals requiring breast prostheses, ostomy supplies and needles/syringes for insulin dependent seniors
Categories of equipment include: 
  • Communication technology including teletypewriting device for the deaf (TTD), communication boards etc 
  • Diabetic equipment and supplies 
  • Enteral feeding supplies 
  • Hearing aids and other devices 
  • Orthotic devices 
  • Ostomy supplies 
  • Prosthetic devices 
  • Respiratory devices 
  • Pressure modification devices 
  • Visual aids such as artificial eyes, magnifiers, optical aids, braillers, etc 
  • Mobility Devices such as wheelchairs, positioning and ambulatory aids 
  • Ventilator equipment and supplies 
  • Home Oxygen Program

  • Any Ontario resident with a long term physical disability and a valid Health Card 
  • Age restrictions in some categories
