Public Comments Provides outreach to Ignace and off-reserve Aboriginal people
Description (Service) Supports for people living with prediabetes or diabetes
 
Provides the following programs and services to clients: 
  • Individual and family diabetes education 
  • Pregnancy and gestational diabetes education 
  • Preconception and postpartum counselling 
  • Screening and specialized clinics including the high school, outreach and weekly walk-ins 
  • School educational programs  
  • Client support groups  
  • Foot care workshops 
  • Presentations to the public and health care providers 
  • Grocery tours
 
Program services are provided through: 
  • Individual sessions 
  • Group sessions 
  • Health promotion activities and events
Hours Mon 12 noon-8 pm, Tue-Fri 8:30 am-4 pm
Areas Served Dryden ; Ignace ; Vermilion Bay
Eligibility Individuals must have: 
  • Type 1/Type 2 Diabetes 
  • Gestational Diabetes 
  • Type 1/Type 2 Pregnancy 
  • Impaired Glucose Tolerance 
  • Impaired Fasting Glucose 
  • High Risk 
  • Pediatric Type 2
