  • When calling, you may need to continue to call until you get through as there are only 2 telephone lines that are operational 
  • Note: Registrations will not be taken by email 
  • Last day to register is Friday, December 14th, 2018 at 4 pm 
  • Accepts contributions throughout the year at any branch of Scotiabank, or by mail to Thunder Bay Christmas Cheer Fund at PO Box 10297, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 6T7 
  • Beginning December 1, 2018, cash donations can be made by sending a text message: text the work CHEER to 20222 ($10 will be added to your next telephone bill) 
  • Donations of cash or canned goods donations can be dropped off at the CLE Coliseum, 425 Northern Ave, Mon-Fri between 9 am-4 pm until Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 5 pm; also Sunday, December 16, 2018 (Blitz Day) between 10 am-4 pm
Pick-Up Days for Hampers
  • South Ward: Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Canadian Lakehead Exhibition (CLE), 9 am-7 pm 
  • North Ward: Wednesday, December 19, 2018, Canadian Lakehead Exhibition (CLE), 9 am-7 pm 
  • Rural: Varies by location, pick up date and time assigned upon registration

  • Prepares and distributes the hampers 
  • Donations of money or non-perishable food items or to register to volunteer one's time can be done through the website 
  • Operates the first two weeks of December

  • Must have children under the age of 16  
  • Children 17 and 18 living at home must be attending secondary school AND 
  • Must meet the low income designation as outlined in the Statistics Canada Low Income Cut Off (LICO) chart
  • Accepted from December 3 to December 14, 2018 
  • Ontario Works (OW) and Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) recipients MUST register through their Case Worker to receive a hamper
Please Note: If you do not sign up by phone or through your OW/ODSP Case Manager by December 14, 2018 at 4 pm you will not be able to get a hamper - there is no waiting list
