Description (Service)
  • Operates a 24-bed emergency shelter for men who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless  
  • Provides 3 meals a day, dorm-based rooms, laundry facilities, clothing and other basic needs 
  • Assists with locating affordable and safe housing 
  • Provides assistance towards independent living and pre-employment skill development addressing education, resume writing, computer and communication skills 
  • Operates a food bank and soup kitchen  
  • Provides referrals to other community agencies
Offers the following programs:
First Steps 
  • Provides referrals to community addiction and substance abuse help services 
  • Offers access to fax, phone, mail 
  • Assists with transportation, housing, food and clothing 
  • Offers assistance with employment search 
  • Provides pre-employment skills building and skill training 
  • Offers workshops, coffee nights and resume development
Transferable Skills Development 
  • Three month in-house program for residents of Vincent Place 
  • Skill training includes: budgeting, personal dimensions, menu planning, food safety, life skills, CPR, First Aid, computer skills and workshops 
  • Offers individual counseling sessions and peer groups 
  • Offers advocacy, referrals and employment counseling 
  • Provides access to internet, telephone, fax and photocopying
