  • Aboriginal people who are First Nation (status or non-status), Metis or Inuit living off-reserve
  • Special priority given to victims of domestic violence abuse

    Eligibility criteria include:
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant or refugee claimant
  • No member of household can owe arrears of rent or money to any past or present Social Housing Provider or
  • Has been convicted of an offence regarding the receipt of Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) assistance or
  • Has misrepresented their income for the purpose of RGI
  • All RGI tenants/members are required to pursue all possible sources of income such as Ontario Works, Employment Insurance etc
  • Meet the RGI financial needs criteria

    Seniors Housing
  • Anyone 60 years of age or older or will be 60 years of age within 12 months of date of application
  • Application Apply through the District of Sault Ste Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSMSSAB); application form available on website
