Description (Service)
  • Identifies priority human care issues in the region 
  • Provides support, funding and develops partnerships with charitable enterprises best suited to address the identified priority issues 
  • Raises funds to provide support for the continuation and support of priority work 
  • Works with community partners to make positive changes in the community  
  • Volunteer-driven organization 
  • Facilitates the Social Development Council (SDC) which directs the future planning of social services and encourages collaborations between organizations
 
Operates the following programs and services: 
  • Community Assistance Trust (CAT) 
  • Volunteer Sault Ste Marie and District 
  • LEAP Emergency Financial Assistance 
  • Winter Warmth Fund 
  • Community Housing Support Program
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Algoma District
Boundaries All communities between Elliot Lake and White River
Eligibility Funding: Must be a registered charity
