Description (Service)
  • Provides assessment, consultation and treatment to increase social and emotional well being
  • Maintains and/or improves personal skills and coping mechanisms
  • Facilitates a variety of open and closed groups
  • Operates the day treatment program and transitional employment program
Day Treatment Program
  • Provides psycho social rehabilitative services for individuals diagnosed with a mental illness and experiencing difficulty with normal daily living
  • Provides assessment, consultation and treatment to increase social and emotional well being
  • Maintains and/or improves personal skills and coping mechanisms, enhancement of role performance and decreased need for hospitalization
  • Provides services on an individual and group basis Services provided include the following:
  • Educational program specific to mental illness
  • Social/recreational program
  • Leisure assessments
  • Medication compliance
  • Life skills (work activities)
Transitional Employment
  • Offers individuals the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge with food preparation and customer service
  • Provides staff for the Venture Coffee Shop
  • Provides services for pre-arranged functions and meetings within the hospital for the coffee shop, catering

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression Group
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Group
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy "Lite"
  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Schizophrenia-Understanding Your Illness
Hours Mon-Fri 8 am-4 pm 
Day Treatment Program Mon-Thu 9 am-3 pm

Eligibility Ages: 16 year(s) and up 
 
  • Individuals diagnosed with a mental illness and experiencing difficulty with daily living 
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Group -- females with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder 
  • Must have a valid Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) Card
Application
  • Self referrals or by physician, family, psychiatrist, support service agencies 
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Group: pre-screening required
