Description (Service)
  • Offers a 17-week program designed to help fathers improve their relationship with their children 
  • Offers confidential, closed weekly group sessions for approximately 12 men per group
 
Focus of the program is to: 
  • Assist men to end the use of abusive parenting strategies 
  • Increase understanding of how the abuse of women impacts their children 
  • Increase awareness of and responsibility for abusive and neglectful parenting and its impact on children 
  • Increase awareness of child-centred fathering 
  • Motivate men to begin the process of examining their fathering
Hours Office: Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm 
Sessions: Two-hour sessions, one night per week for 17 weeks
Areas Served Rainy River District
Eligibility Fathers who have been neglectful or have emotionally and/or physically abused or are at-risk of abusing their children, and/or fathers who have been abusive towards their children's mother
Application
  • Referrals accepted from agencies or self-referral 
  • Requires initial screening interview 
  • Call one of the Program Facilitators for information
