Public Comments Smoking Cessation program available at both Outreach and Clinic sites
Description (Service)
  • Offers the "Stop Smoking with FHT's" cessation program to assist individuals in quitting tobacco use 
  • Conducts initial assessment to determine the patient's smoking habits and health profile to provide the appropriate treatment 
  • Provides self-management support and strategies 
  • Assists patients released from hospital to remain smoke-free after discharge
 
Offers the following support and services: 
  • Education and information 
  • Counselling 
  • Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) that can include patch, lozenges, gum and inhalers 
  • Prescriptions for Champix or Zyban (through FHT Pharmacist)
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-12 noon, 1 pm-5 pm

Eligibility Must be rostered patient of Atikokan Family Health Team; call office to have name added to the unrostered patient's list
Application
  • Register through office or on website 
  • Patients will qualify for up to 6 months of free nicotine replacement therapy
