Description (Service)
  • Serves as a local fish and wildlife conservation organization  
  • Operates as a member club of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters
 
Main conservation efforts include: 
  • Improving, maintaining and enhancing fisheries and fishing opportunities 
  • Advocacy on behalf of Ontario's licensed hunters and protection of their hunting heritage 
  • Sound management of fish and wildlife and the lands and waters they inhabit
 
Local projects and initiatives include but are not limited to: 
  • Operation of the Sportsmen's Conservation Club Walleye Hatchery 
  • Seeding of area access roads to prevent soil erosion 
  • Brushing area roads to maintain access to fishing and hunting activities 
  • Hosting annual dinner/auction as the primary fundraising effort 
  • Employment opportunities for university level biology students and local high school students
