Description (Service)
  • Operates a volunteer program to provide toys and grocery hampers for families at Christmas time
  • Encourages fund raising events on behalf of Christmas Cheer
Grocery Hampers
  • Provides groceries to prepare a Christmas meal, including a turkey
  • Provides extra groceries to assist through the holidays
  • Accepts donations of non perishable food items
  • Accepts cash donations for purchase of groceries; provides receipts upon request
  • Application available for anyone wishing to nominate individuals and families to receive hamper
Toy Program
  • Provides new, gift wrapped toys to children
  • Accepts donations of new toys and gifts for children and teens
  • Committee prefers toys to be unwrapped
Adopt A Family Program

Provides a family with a grocery hamper and toys selected from a personalized wishlist; how the program works:
  • Family in need fills out an application; includes ages and personal wishlist of children
  • Community member purchases groceries for an approximate value of $150 for a 1-2 person family, and $260 for 3 or more person family, and gifts to correspond with list for the children
  • Recommends 2 gifts per child, 1 large gift approximately $30 and 1 small gift approximately $15
  • Encourages the donation of gift certificates for teenagers
  • Keeps all information about benefactors and recipients confidential
Sponsor-A-Family Program
  • Works the same as Adopt-A-Family Program but is designed for people who don't have the time to assemble hamper or buy gifts
  • Sponsor donates the amount for a family and Salvation Army committee will fill hamper and gift wishlist
