  • Amenitites inlcude dining room, coffee shop, lounge, hair salon, library, shuffleboard, computers and rooftop garden on premises
Description (Service)
  • Functions as a service club that supports community projects and individuals in need through volunteerism and fundraising 
  • Provides financial assistance locally and internationally for vision, hearing and diabetes problems and guide dogs for sight impairments 
  • Offers scholarships and bursaries to graduating students of Atikokan High School 
  • Offers volunteer opportunities for Atikokan High School students
 
Programs include:
 
Lions Eye Bank, Medical Assistance Program and Hearing Foundation 
  • Provides financial assistance for hearing aids, eyeglasses and medical appointments 
  • Provides financial assistance for out of town medical appointments
 
Lions Manor 
  • Coordinates with Lions Manor in Winnipeg to offer affordable accommodations for medical appointments 
  • Offers fully furnished apartments; accommodations include lunch and dinner for 2 people
 
Supports various local initiatives as they arise such as: 
  • Improvements to the Bunnell Park Sliding Hill 
  • Contributions to the Seniors Handi Van 
  • Financial support for the Quiet Room to be built at the Atikokan General Hospital 
  • Financial assistance for orthopedic shoes, sports equipment, medical alert bracelets, emergency dental care, a special needs bicycle for an autistic child 
  • Hosts weekly TV Bingo 
  • Hosts the annual Spring Carnival for children 
  • Sponsors an annual sliding party for community with free hot dogs and hot chocolate
