Description & Services
Description (Service) Oversees the administration of the Clerk's department and services 
  • Acts as liaison between the public and Members of Council 
  • Manages all corporate records and policies and procedures 
  • Maintains and prepares the agendas, by laws and minutes for all meetings including council, committee of the whole and public sessions 
  • Maintains the books, records and accounts of City Council 
  • Advises Council regarding legal requirements 
  • Provides information to the public regarding the policies, procedures and decisions of Council 
  • Facilitates death registrations and certificates 
  • Issues marriage licenses, marriage certificates and conducts civil marriages 
  • Maintains and updates property management records 
  • Administers Provincial Offences and Bylaw Enforcement
 
The Clerk also serves as: 
  • The Returning Officer for all municipal elections 
  • The Municipal Freedom of Information (FOI) and Protection of Privacy coordinator
