Description (Service) Offers programs and services to protect children from neglect and abuse including:
 
Child Protection 
  • Conducts intake assessments 
  • Carries out abuse and neglect investigations 
  • Offers family relief and support 
  • Operates a pre-teen program 
  • Assists youth in planning for their future 
  • Gives assistance to first-time parents 
  • Promotes community awareness and education 
 
Home Alone 
  • Promotes Child and Family Services Act's guidelines for leaving a child at home unattended  
  • Investigates allegations of children left unattended
 
Emergency Services
 
Provides an emergency line for children in need of protection
Hours Office: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm 
Emergencies: Mon-Sun 24 hours

  • Child Protection services apply to children 16 years of age and under 
  • Child Protection services exclude First Nations communities
