Description (Service) Offers parenting and developmental support to families and individuals 
  • Provides home visits with flexible hours to assist with the challenges of parenting 
  • Offers developmental screening and assessments 
  • Gives support and assistance with behavioral problems 
  • Coordinates health, financial and educational services in the community 
  • Assists with the transition to school for special needs children 
  • Facilitates recreational and life skills programming 
  • Provides individual and family counselling
 
Facilitates the following parenting and family support programs
 
123 Magic 
  • Offers discipline techniques for effective parenting 
  • Outlines three simple steps for controlling obnoxious behaviour 
  • Encourages good behavior and strengthens the bond between parents and children
 
You Make the Difference 
  • Teaches skills to enrich child's development through positive everyday interaction 
  • Provides support for parents who have limited communication skills or feel isolated 
  • Assists families whose children's learning may be at risk
 
Triple P 
  • Offers a multi-level, parenting and family support strategy 
  • Prevents behavioral, emotional and developmental problems in children by enhancing the knowledge, skills and confidence of parents 
  • Suggests simple routines and small changes that can make a big difference to a family 
  • Helps parents understand the way their family works and uses the things that parents already say, think, feel and do in new ways that create a stable, supportive and harmonious family
