Description (Service) Represents the community in lands and resources initiatives  
  • Working within a signed First Nations Land Management Framework Agreement to develop the Temagami Land Code and Individual Agreement which will give Temagami First Nation full management of their own on-reserve lands and resources  
  • Liaises with all companies undertaking resource development in traditional n'Daki Menan ("Our Land") territory for Temagami First Nation/TemeAugama Anishnabai (TFN/TAA), including mining developments, forestry projects and hydro electric power projects  
  • Participates in negotiations and agreements with resource developers to ensure TFN/TAA is fairly included in benefits  
  • Consults with target groups who have an interest in land and resource issues such as mining  
  • Develops and implements a consultation protocol for negotiations related to Lands and Resource issues  
  • Advises community members on Lands and Resource issues via meetings, website or correspondence 
  • Provides guidance for the development of a Land Use Plan and Environmental Management System for the community 
  • Cooperates with the Housing Department for allocation of land to TFN/TAA registered members who wish to build a home or cabin on territorial land
