Public Comments The Club asks that individuals notify them of any information changes. 
 
If an individual will be away from home, it is important that they notify the North Bay Golden Age Club of the dates they will be away so calls can be suspended during that time. 
 
When attending an appointment to apply for the program, it is recommended that the emergency contact individual also attend.
Description (Service)
  • Operates a telephone reassurance program for individuals who live alone 
  • Phones individuals at home to ensure that they are not in need of assistance or help 
  • Phones individuals seven days a week at predetermined times 
  • Designates an emergency contact, such as a next of kin, relative, friend or neighbour, as a contact person for the individual receiving services
 
When calling, a voice message instructs the individual to either: 
  • Replace the receiver if they are okay or 
  • Replace the receiver and call 911 if they are in need of assistance
 
Note: If an individual does not answer the phone, a volunteer at the Club will telephone the emergency contact and explain the situation. They will ask the contact to check on the individual.
