Robinson Huron Treaty
Description (Service) Offers a non-residential program that provides an array of services for female victims of domestic violence 
  • Delivers training sessions and workshops to assist women in developing knowledge, skills and abilities to increase their employment and income potential 
  • Creates an individualized work and training plan tailored to participant's needs 
  • Provides access to Elders 
  • Conducts follow-up with individuals and employers 
  • Promotes awareness and sensitivity to the barriers faced by women who experience violence
Teaches participants the following: 
  • Stress management techniques  
  • Interview and job search strategies 
  • Accessing local job market information 
  • Implementing training, education and employment action plans 
  • Connecting with potential employers, colleges or universities
Offers various workshops including: 
ABC Approach to Healing Your Life 
Offers a 10-week training program which addresses and investigates an individual's past, present and future life 
Microsoft Office training 
Provides in-class facilitator-assisted training in Microsoft Office, which includes an introduction to computers, Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint 
Community Workshops include:

  • Great Attitude, Great Future 
  • Defining Domestic Violence 
  • Financial Literacy

Eligibility Ages: 16 year(s) and up 
  • All women at risk/or a survivor of domestic violence 
  • Must have a fixed address or reside in a women's shelter within the District of Nipissing 
  • Employed, unemployed or underemployed
