  • Functions as a Crown agency  
  • Manages the planning, integration, performance and funding of the health care system in Northeastern Ontario  
  • Plans, funds and integrates local health services including hospitals, community support services, long-term care, mental health and addictions services, community health centres and the North East Community Care Access Centre
