Description (Service) Operates an elementary school for community students  
  • Offers a full curriculum for students from JK to Grade 6; approved and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education  
  • Provides an Ojibway language immersion program, an initiative that incorporates cultural and Native language into daily curriculum 
  • Provides the Confident Learners Program which supports and promotes student literacy through individual learning  
  • Offers a Breakfast program which provides breakfast and nutrition breaks to students 
  • Provides five classrooms, a library, and a computer lab  
  • Offers extra-curricular activities such as snowshoeing and movie nights 
  • Participates in the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Canada Program which provides laptops and tablets to each child aged 6-12 years in the school as a learning tool  
  • Provides bus transportation for all students attending the school
 
Special Education  
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties  
  • Develops an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student with annual reviews  
  • Strives for maximum amount of integration with regular programs
