Public Comments United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising (UCCMM) is a member of the political territorial organization Union of Ontario Indians (UOI)
Description (Service)
  • Provides advice and assistance to community leaders and council in fire and related matters  
  • Develops programs to enhance community emergency service plans and fire inspection services  
  • Provides information and training for fire fighters, fire chiefs and officers  
  • Advises on new regulations and on the National Building Code Part 3 
  • Provides assistance with the purchase of fire fighting equipment
 
Advises on:  
  • Emergency services 
  • Emergency service vehicles 
  • Fire code interpretation  
  • Fire department administration 
  • Fire protection and acts of terrorism  
  • Fire prevention issues in the community and in the home
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation ; M'Chigeeng First Nation ; Sheguiandah ; Sheshegwaning ; Whitefish River First Nation ; Zhiibaahaasing First Nation
Eligibility Must belong to one of the member First Nations within the United Chiefs & Councils of Mnidoo Mnising Territory
Application Services are delivered to community members at the local level (Band Office)
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Ojibwe, available upon request
