Description (Service) Aims to enhance the health and well-being of First Nation children and families
 
Aboriginal Child Nutrition (ACN) 
  • Assists families in developing and maintaining healthy and nutritious meal plans 
  • Provides information, awareness and education about the importance of healthy eating habits in the development of children
 
Also offers the following programs to communities: 
  • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FAS/D) 
  • Healthy Babies Healthy Children
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-4:30 pm 
Summer Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-4 pm
Areas Served Dalles First Nation ; Grassy Narrows First Nation ; Lac Seul First Nation ; Migisi Sahgaigan First Nation ; Northwest Angle 33 First Nation ; Northwest Angle 37 First Nation ; Shoal Lake 39 First Nation ; Shoal Lake 40 First Nation ; Wabauskang First Nation ; Wabigoon Lake First Nation ; Washagamis Bay First Nation ; Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation ; Whitedog First Nation ; Whitefish Bay First Nation
Eligibility First Nation children 16 years of age and younger and their families
Application Services are provided locally within each community
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Ojibway, Oji-Cree; available upon request
