Public Comments All communities are part of Treaty #3 except Lac des Mille Lacs which is part of the Robinson-Superior Treaty
Description (Service) Offers a program which focuses on learning and preserving the traditional Anishinaabe language 
  • Coordinates seven 9-day language immersion camps up to a total of 84 adults 
  • Offers specific traditional activities from which participants choose 3 activities for duration of 6-month program 
  • Carries out each activity (ie fishing camps) under the guidance of Elders speaking the language 
  • Documents each camp for use as language resource material
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4 pm
Areas Served Dalles First Nation ; Grassy Narrows First Nation ; Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation ; Migisi Sahgaigan First Nation ; Shoal Lake 39 First Nation ; Shoal Lake 40 First Nation ; Wabauskang First Nation ; Wabigoon Lake First Nation ; Washagamis Bay First Nation ; Whitedog First Nation - Wabaseemoong Independent First Nations
Eligibility Must belong to one of the member First Nations in the Bimose Tribal Council territory

  • Arrangements and application for camps can be made through Andy Graham, Student Success Coordinator 
  • Requires wrap-up program evaluation
