Public Comments Mental health diversion is available through the Kenora and Dryden Courts
Description (Service) Provides an alternative to the court process for youth with mental health issues and deemed appropriate for court diversion 
  • Provides consultations to the Crown Attorney and develops service care plans 
  • Assists youth to access mental health services and community supports including mental health and addiction services
 
NOTE: Crown may withdraw charges after youth's completion of mental health diversion program
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm

Eligibility Ages: 12 year(s) - 17 year(s) 
 
  • Youth must be deemed appropriate for Court diversion 
  • Shows evidence of a mental illness or is suspected of having mental health issues, traumatic brain injury or developmental issues 
  • Youth's mental health issue must be able to be effectively managed with the community 
  • Youth has been charged with a Class 1 or less serious Class II type of offence OR 
  • Is on current probation and receives a new divertible charge
