  • Central Corridor Energy Group (CCEG) consists of the First Nation communities of Bearskin Lake, Cat Lake, Deer Lake, Kasabonika Lake, Keewaywin, Kingfisher Lake, Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, Lac Des Mille Lacs, Lac Seul, McDowell Lake, Muskrat Dam, North Caribou Lake, North Spirit Lake, Pikangikum, Poplar Hill, Sachigo Lake, Sandy Lake, Slate Falls, Wabigoon Lake, Wapekeka, Wawakapewin and Wunnumin Lake

Description (Service) Works as a newly-incorporated company pursuing the development of a transmission line that will connect remote First Nations communities to the provincial electrical grid and provide more reliable power to local communities and industry 
  • Operates as a partnership between 22 First Nations referred to as the Central Corridor Energy Group (CCEG) and Goldcorp Inc 
  • Focused on designing, permitting, constructing, owning and operating transmission lines to bring additional electrical grid connection to Pickle Lake and new lines North to connect remote First Nation communities 
  • Aims to significantly reduce current diesel generation relied on for power in northern First Nation communities and Musselwhite Mine, a Goldcorp corporation 
  • Proposal consists of a single project with a two-phase development; first phase will reinforce electricity transmission into Pickle Lake and provide service to Musselwhite Mine; second phase will extend transmission north to service 10 remote First Nation communities
