  • Shibogama First Nations Council is a member of the Provincial Territorial Organization of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN) 
  • All member communities belong to Treaty #9
Description (Service)
  • Promotes the safety of each community through the emergency response plans coordinated by the area Resource Teams 
  • Facilitates intervention, counselling and support group services for community members who are experiencing some form of crisis 
  • Relies on assistance from family and children's workers, addictions workers, mental health workers, nurses and police officers 
  • Collaborates with nurses and other related resource workers to create healing programs and initiatives for member communities
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4:30 pm
Areas Served Kasabonika Lake First Nation ; Kingfisher Lake First Nation ; Wapekeka First Nation ; Wawakapewin First Nation ; Wunnumin Lake First Nation
Eligibility Must belong to one of the member First Nations within the Shibogama First Nations Council territory
Application Services are delivered to community members at the local level (Band Office)
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Oji-Cree; available upon request
