  • IFNA is a member of the Political Territorial Organization of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN) 
  • IFNA member First Nation communities represent Treaty #3, Treaty #5, Treaty #9 and the Robinson-Superior Treaty in Northern Ontario
Description (Service) Provides advisory services to member First Nations on educational matters and issues 
  • Offers services to Chiefs and Councils, Education Authorities, Education Directors and school staff members 
  • Conducts community and school visits 
  • Provides training to Education Directors and board members 
  • Provides representation for member communities at meetings and reports back to community education administration 
  • Assists and advises in educational planning, annual budgets, goal setting, proposal development, technical writing and policy development 
  • Coordinates on-going training and workshops 
  • Facilitates evaluations for school programs, and education board and staff members
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-12 noon, 1 pm-5 pm
Areas Served Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation - Big Trout Lake ; Lac Seul First Nation ; Muskrat Dam First Nation ; Pikangikum First Nation ; Whitesand First Nation
Eligibility Must belong to one of the member First Nations within the Independent First Nations Alliance (IFNA)
Application Services are delivered to community members at the local level (Band Office)
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Ojibway, Oji-Cree; available upon request
