Description (Service) Operates a public on-reserve school for elementary students 
  • Offers a full curriculum for students from JK to Grade 8; approved and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education 
  • Occupies a newly-constructed school opened in Sep 2014 equipped with 21 nursery/kindergarten/regular classrooms, a Special Education/Literacy area, library, science/art area, a music classroom, a home economics room, an industrial arts classroom, a computer lab and gymnasium 
  • Teaches Native Cree language as a subject course 
  • Offers cultural education to learn traditional skills and teachings of the local area 
  • Provides outdoor playgrounds and athletic fields for soccer and baseball  
  • Provides supervised extra-curricular activities 
  • Participates in the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Canada Program which provides laptops and tablets to each child aged 6-12 years in the school as a learning tool
 
Special Education  
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties  
  • Strives for maximum amount of integration with regular programs
