Description (Service) Facilitates customary care (foster care) arrangements with priority always given to the recognition and rights of an Anishinaabe child to be placed with extended family, their own community and their clan
 
Provides foster care child placement in the following order of priority: 
  • With immediate or extended family members in the community 
  • With other community members 
  • With extended family outside the community 
  • With a family in another native community 
  • With a non-Aboriginal family as a last consideration
 
Semi Independent Living Program 
  • Provides life skills training to children in care 
  • Helps to prepare them for the transition to independent living
Hours Office: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm 
Emergencies: Mon-Sun 24 hours
Areas Served Grassy Narrows First Nation ; Washagamis Bay First Nation - Obashkaandagaang ; Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation ; Whitedog First Nation - Wabaseemoong Independent Nation,, Wabaseemoong Independent Nation, ; Whitefish Bay First Nation
Eligibility Ages: 15 year(s) and under 
 
First Nations children and youth on/off-reserve from the First Nation communities of Naotkamegwanning, Wauzhushk Onigum Nation, Asubpeeschoseewagong Netum Anishinabek, Wabaseemoong Independent Nation and Obaskkaandagaang (Washagamis Bay)
Application Intake Assessment required for all programs
