Description & Services
Description (Service) Offers support to individuals with addictions issues using traditional healing teaching 
  • Provides individual and group counselling sessions for addictions that include (but not limited to) alcohol and substance abuse 
  • Offers assistance upon discharge from jail or treatment centres with transition back into the community; provides follow up phone calls and visits 
  • Provides referrals to treatment centres and community supports
Hours Sep-Jun: Mon-Fri 9 am-4:30 pm 
Jul-Aug: Mon-Fri 9 am-4 pm 
Hours are flexible when required

Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and up 
 
  • Individuals experiencing difficulties with addictions; no formal diagnosis required 
  • Open to all Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal peoples currently at Kenora Jail
Application Intake assessment required; conducted verbally, either in person or by telephone
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Ojibway, upon request
