Public Comments Member of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN)
Description (Agency) To support community economic development for our First Nations members through business financing, strategic planning for communities, business support, counseling and advisory services
Description (Service) Provides technical and professional advisory services and training to enhance the overall management skills and opportunities of the Mushkegowuk Territory First Nations
Provides a wide variety of programs and services including:  
Commercial/Business Financing 
  • Offers financing in the form of loans, loan guarantees, and equity participation to individuals or for-profit businesses with a well-documented business plan seeking to establish or expand a new or existing business 
  • Offers financing in the form of a loan to assist Aboriginal entrepreneurs with business start-ups or expansion
Business Advisory & Support Services 
  • Works at the community and regional levels to promote partnerships and develop opportunities for economic growth and job creation for Aboriginal businesses and communities 
  • Offers self-employment benefits in partnership with Mushkegowuk Council Employment and Training Services 
  • Provides business research and technical support 
  • Assists with online business name registration
Community Economic Development Strategic Planning Support 
  • Offers technical support to member communities who are undertaking community strategic planning projects
Financing for Micro-Community Economic Development Projects 
  • Assists in the implementation of small-scale community economic development initiatives
